Teotihuacán, Mexico

Dernière mise à jour : 19 févr. 2018

Last weekend, Vivien & I visited the holy city of Teotihuacán, situated 50km North-East of Mexico City.

The pyramides were on the top of my Mexican bucket list: they are among the largest ancient pyramides in the world!

Teotihuacán is composed of two massive pyramids, the Pirámide del Sol (Pyramid of the Sun), which is the highest one and the Pirámide de la Luna (Pyramid of the Moon), which dominates the remains of the metropolis. In my opinion, the view from the Moon Pyramid was actually the best: see below.

Since the site is extremely famous, it was a bit crowded during the weekend and there were many vendors trying to sell us all types of things, but I enjoyed the pyramides a lot anyway!

The site covers a total surface area of 83 square kilometres (32 sq mi) which means that there is a lot of walking to do. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water!
